I was raised on soup

April 3rd, 2012 by admin

I was raised on soup. I’m not saying it was the only thing I ever ate but bowl food has always been a constant…from my grandmother’s chicken soup with homemade noodles to my mother’s ever growing repertoire of simmered perfection.

Soup, more than any other food, feels like home to me. It provides comforting warmth in the fall or a bit of refreshment on a hot summer day. It can take you to faraway places or remind you of times forgotten. I’m probably getting a little sentimental here but I do think there is something magical about a food that can not only begin a meal, but can help its progression or even bring it to an inspired close.

The role of soup on the menu is changing. This blog is meant to be a forum to explore that change…to ask questions, to try something new and to enjoy every bite along the way.
